Course objectives
The knowledge and skills adequate to have standardized know in order to:
- the fundamental notions of civil and criminal law;
- the qualifications of health care professional as "public official", "public service appointee", "performing a public necessity service" and the different duties connected with them;
- essentials in the forensic neuropathology
- neuropathology forensic techniques
- the correlation between the law and forensic pathology
- the rules regarding the imputability;
- differential diagnosis among natural, accidental or violent brain disease
- the conditions that legitimize the medical treatments in patients suffering by brain natural or traumatic diseases and the role of the local judicial authority in the protecting patientsObiettivi del Corso sono l’acquisizione e il possesso di conoscenze in tema di:
- ordinamento italiano in tema di responsabilità penale e civile;
- qualifiche giuridiche dell’esercente la professione sanitaria e obblighi verso l’autorità giudiziaria;
- fondamenta di neuropatologia forense e procedure di indagine medico legale
- correlazioni tra neuropatologia e normativa vigente
- processo penale, imputabilità e neuropatologia

At the end of the course the students will be able to:
- apply the criteria and methods of ascertaining death in relation to the mortuary police system and the law on transplants;
- describe and to interpret the main neuropathology in the forensic setting.
- handle all the medico- legal aspects in the field of forensic neuropathology

The timing of neonatal brain injuries in the suspicion of childbirth-related health malpractice, the mechanisms of production of traumatic brain pathology in the forms of abuse and maltreatment of minors, the brain and medullary outcomes of subclinical traumatic injuries typical of sportsmen of some disciplines in particular; forensic neuropathology, legislation and related profiles of criminal, civil and administrative and accounting liability.
